How to Prepare for your First Lash Appointment
So, You've taken the leap and are about to get Eyelash Extensions for the first time! Here are some helpful tips from a Lash Artist Pro to help make your first experience a breeze!
DO YOUR RESEARCH
Its important to find a licensed Eyelash Technician. Some states require a Cosmetology or Esthetics license as well as a certificate of completion by a verified trainer. You'll want to read reviews, check out their website and see lots of before and after photos. Ask your friends and family chances are they have a lash artist they love. Remember this is your eyes and you don't want to go cheap! Plan on spending anywhere from $120.00- $300.00 for your first full set.
CHECK OUT THEIR HOURS OF OPERATION
It's important to find a business that is open when you need them to be. Do you need late afternoon/ evening or weekend appointments? Make sure the business can accommodate you.
Ok, You've found your perfect salon and now onto the actual appointment.
Be prepared to lay down for 1.5- 2 hours. Dress comfy and bring a light sweater.
DO NOT drink coffee (or any caffeinated beverage ) just before your appointment, the caffeine can make your eyes flutter and make our job very difficult.
DO cleanse your eye area, ideally you want to show up without any eye make up. The mascara, eyeliner and eyeshadow can leave behind oils that will break down the adhesive on your brand new Eyelash Extensions and they won't last as long as they should
Have inspo photos so your artist can have an idea of how you'd like your extensions to look but be realistic. If you naturally have weak sparc lashes you won't be able to support a mega full ultra long set of Extensions.
